Abstract

Hairy heel warts disease (digital dermatitis, papillomatous digital dermatitis or PDD) continues to plague the nation's dairies with corresponding profit loss.2 While extensive studies have been conducted on specific treatment compounds and their effects, there has been minimal investigation into the various stages of the disease and their susceptibility and/or resistance to treatment. In this study, correlation between the stage of the disease at which treatment is initiated, and effectiveness of the treatment, is investigated.
