Abstract

Although uterine torsion has been reported in all of the domestic species, it is a condition that is more likely to be encountered by bovine practitioners. The anatomical features of the gravid bovine uterus undoubtedly play a major role, just as the anatomy of the equine gastro-intestinal tract predisposes the horse to colic. Literature on the topic is sparse and the etiology of the condition is open to speculation.
