Abstract

Over the past 80-90 years a number of techniques have evolved for spaying heifers. Such techniques include the following:
1. Flank spaying, lateral recumbency.
2. Flank spaying, standing in a branding chute.
3. Vaginal spaying, using a Kimberling-Rupp (KR) instrument.
4. Vaginal spaying, using a Willis instrument.
5. Flank spaying, using an ovarian auto graft.
