Abstract

Partial and complete teat obstruction occurs in dairy cattle and often is caused by trauma. (1, 2) Lesions may occur in the teat canal, teat sinus, gland cistern, or in multiple sites. (3, 4) Teat obstructions proximal to the teat canal have been described as spiders and this condition is caused by proliferation of accessory glands and the formation of fibrous tissue with tumor-like masses which block the flow of milk.
