Active research on the problem of excess or abnormal acid production in the rumin is currently being carried out in many countries: Australia, Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Germany (East and West), India, Kenya, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States. Their published findings will form the basis of this short review.
