The protozoan parasites Cryptosporidium species and Giardia species are commonly found in cattle feces and can present important risks to human health, with especially serious consequences when immunocompromised individuals become infected. The purpose of this study was to examine the infection prevalence of Cryptospordium species and Giardia species in cow-calf herds at calving, and to determine risk factors associated with infection.
