The effects of exogenous 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) on pulmonary bovine function i.e. , hyperventilation, diffuse bronchoconstriction and pulmonary artery hypertension, have been previously reported. The purpose of the present investigation was to study, in vivo, the effects of a 5-HT challenge preceeded by treatment with a selective blocking agent of 5-HT2 receptors (R 50970) on pulmonary bovine function.
