Abstract

The effect of Baquiloprim/Sulfadimidine on the fermentation of rumen fluid was tested by three different models (short-time-system: 1. in vitro [n=25]; 2. in-vivo/in-vitro [n=lO]; 3. long-time-system: in-vitro [n=2]). all systems showed increased pH (1. model: 5 %; 2. model: 6 %; 3. model: 1 %), decreased glucose degradation (model 1 u. 2: -21 %), ureolysis (1. model: -5,3 %; 2. model: -14,7 %), as well as decreased production of L-(+)-lactate (1. model: -6 %; 2. model: - 87,6 %) and sVFA (1.model: -15 % ;2. model: -38,8 %; 3. model: -11 %). Different effects could be explained by different incubates, time of influence and different nutrients.
