Abstract

The effect of Escherichia coli vaccination on the incidence of acute mastitis in 2 dairy herds was studied. In Study 1, diagnosis was based on clinical signs. A significant effect was observed in the first lactation. In Study 2, diagnosis was based on culture and clinical signs. An effect was demonstrated, but it was not statistically significant.
